My research focuses on understanding digital cultures and practices related to mental health, so we can motivate ethical and creative social change and care in our communities.

I am Dr Natalie Hendry, Senior Lecturer in Youth Wellbeing with the Youth Research Collective and Melbourne Graduate School of Education, at the University of Melbourne. Previously I was a Vice Chancellor’s Postdoctoral Research Fellow at RMIT University, Melbourne Australia, based with the Digital Ethnographic Research Centre and School of Media and Communication.

Before joining the world of research, I was a teacher in secondary, community and hospital education. This “practitioner insight” informs how I think and do research, and how I want it to make an impact in the world.
